Oh, The Places You'll Go

Meals are not an afterthought in France, nor are the locations they are served in.  Once you've had your first look around the Chateau and decided to rest out on the back porch and an enjoy a beverage, you'll swear to never look back.

Never again will I take mealtime lightly, rushing to be done with it, eating standing up or running out the door.  Once you've dined under the warm evening sky while the night falls and the candles light your knife and fork,

You'll want to forget that you don't eat this way all the time.  You'll want to always set the table, the lighting, the mood.

After the first meal, you'll start telling yourself you're never leaving,
or, at the very least,

you'll be back again, very soon, sitting at another table.

A Resting Place

One of the things I look forward to the most each year at the Chateau is the great sleep we all get.  Sure, it seems you might not ever sleep:  Just THINKING about the trip can get your heart racing!  But, one thing we hear over and over from everyone is how they sleep like a baby in their lovely room, in their comfy bed.  It's "something about the air"? A common belief.  Or, it's just that you're in the South of France, tucked back from the road, staying in this incredible chateau, overlooking gorgeous fields, and you don't have a care in the world but what's for breakfast in the morning and what goodies you might find at the next vide grenier.  Of course you're going to sleep like a baby.... enjoy it.

French Feasts

One of the most exciting things about the holiday time is the fabulous food everyone makes an effort to create...
Same thing holds true in the South of France in the middle of summer!
Over and over again, we're impressed by the gorgeous food served at the Chateau.

From the market to our table, it's an amazing part of chateau life.

Each meal served to us by the lovely and talented Chef Charlotte is fresh, local and organic.  Even when you think you've had your gastronomical limit, out comes dessert and you're not about to miss it!

Each bite, a moving moment.  Each flavor, something new to discover.  Each meal, a wonder at your table.  We've begged Charlotte to come home with us and open a restaurant here in the states, but of course, we must return to the Chateau each summer if we want to experience her truly magical dishes.  If you'd like to see more foodie fotos from our past trips, click'hre to the flickr.

*Remember to please let us know if there are any food allergies or dietary concerns we should know about.  Thanks!
